'XP Celebration Timed Research' quest steps and rewards

XP Celebration Timed Research will be available until Tuesday 14th October at 11:59pm (local time) and it's not a quest you want to miss out on in Pokémon Go.

Accessible to every Trainer over Level 5 (so basically all of us), NAME gives you the chance to earn over 7 million XP! Even if this won't take you to the next level now, it will certainly come in handy when the level adjustments arrive on Wednesday 15th October.

September in Pokémon Go has started with the new Keldeo seasonal quest! The Pokémon Concierge Celebration Event is currently running. There's also levelling changes coming soon. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

XP Celebration bonuses

The following bonuses will be live in Pokémon Go until Tuesday 14th October at 11:59pm (local time):

• Double Catch XP with Nice, Great and Excellent Throws
• Extra 3,000 XP from winning raids
• Extra 3,000 XP from winning Max Battles
• Level 47 Level-Up Research Task adjust to requiring walking 25km twice in one week (reduced from eight)

Upcoming levelling changes in Pokémon Go

Now that I've covered the XP Celebration itself, what exactly are the upcoming Trainer Level changes in Pokémon Go? Well I've summarised them for you down below and, when they do arrive, will be updating our Pokémon Go level requirements guide to ensure everything's properly up-to-date.

Here's what to expect when the level changes arrive:

• Level cap increases to Level 80.
• Rebalancing to overall levelling curve between Level 1 to 80 to ensure players level up more frequently.
• Level 41 to 50 Level Up Research Tasks removed.
• New Level Up Research Tasks for Levels 71 to 80.
• Players at Level 70 or higher have an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends with other players.
• New rewards for levelling up, including new avatar items starting at Level 25.
• Depending on XP gained prior to 15th October, some players will automatically jump in level and will still receive the rewards associated with each one. (More details to come.)
• Nobody's level will decrease. Though the required XP to reach the next level may differ depending on your level prior to 15th October.
• Everyone will receive a medal commemorating their highest achieved level prior to the update.
• New avatar prose for players who reached Level 50 prior to 15th October.
• Avatar items and pose currently associated with Levels 41 to 50 will no longer be obtainable. You will keep these items if you've already earned them.
