Tools in Silksong are paramount to collect and use if you want to survive your journey through Pharloom with Hornet.

Some of the Tools in Hollow Knight: Silksong can be picked up by progressing through the story, while others can be obtained by purchasing them from specific vendors and through completing Wishes (side quests). There are plenty for you to find and use, but what exactly are you looking for?

On that note, here's our in-progress Silksong Tool list including Tool types explained.

Silksong Tool types explained

There are three different tool types in Silksong, each type are very different and you may find that one specific set will be better for your playthrough than others - though we highly recommend curating a mixture of them all.

  • Yellow - Yellow tools are ones that can alter how certain parts of the game work or helping you find your way a bit better, such as making gaining Rosary Beads simpler or using the Compass to see where you are.
  • Red - Red tools are offensive items but they're a limited resource, once used you need to consume Shell Shards at a Bench to recharge them.
  • Blue - Blue tools are your passive ones for Silksong, you don't need to do much with these as they just exist happily in the background while you plod through Pharloom.
