How to dash in Silksong

The ability to dash in Hollow Knight: Silksong is also known as the Swiftstep Skill, and Silksong players can fortunately pick this ability up quite early in the region of Deep Docks.

That said, if you’re not aware of where it’s hidden, it can be quite easy to miss and you certainly don’t want to venture into Far Fields and beyond without it. To ensure that doesn’t happen, here’s how to dash in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

How to dash in Silksong

The ability to dash – Swiftstep – is found in Deep Docks in Hollow Knight: Silksong. More specifically, it’s found in the north of the area to the right of the Bench shown in the below image.

That said, you won’t be able to go right of the Bench and collect this ability as there’ll be a locked gate here. Instead, you’ll need to go the long way round, heading to the far right of Deep Docks and upwards before then going back on yourself - heading left once in Deep Docks' upper level - to reach the ability.

The route from Deep Docks entrance to the Swiftstep Skill is labelled on the above map. Once you retrieve the Swiftstep ability, you’ll be able to go left of the altar where you collected it and unlock the gate leading to the Bench. Handy!
