Knowing the Silksong Konami code will give you access to another game mode when starting a brand new save file.

Without further ado, here's the Silksong Konami code, how to use the Konami code, and Silksong Steel Soul mode explained.

Silksong Konami code explained

The Konami Code in Silksong unlocks the Steel Soul mode, an option you can choose when starting a brand new game in a new save file. The code, for lack of a better description, is essentially a cheat code that gives you this option.

How to use the Silksong Konami code

The Silksong Konami Code is Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. To use the Konami Code you need to open up Silksong and enter the 'Extras' option on the main menu, then input the code commands.

If you've input the commands correctly, a brief flash and noise will appear on the Extras screen to let you know it has been accepted. Then, to check if it's gone through properly, make a new save file and you should be able to see a 'Steel Soul' option before you start the game.

Silksong Steel Soul mode explained

Steel Soul mode in Silksong is the game's version of a permadeath mode - which means if you die, you're done. There's no returning to a Bench, there's no previous save to fall back on, if you die during a Steel Soul run you’ll have no choice but to start again.

During our Steel Soul run, we died and then when we returned to the save file screen in the main menu our run was labelled as 'defeated'. So, it seems you'll need to clear the failed run’s save file to be able to start again.
