Amazon Resale discounts come along every so often, and it can sometimes feel like finding a needle in a haystack to find a good deal there. Today isn't one of those days though, as I've spotted a discount on a fast and capacious SSD that I'm surprised hasn't already been snapped up.
With a 20 percent extra reduction applied at checkout, it makes this 4TB WD SN850X just £170, which is £60 less (!) than I spotted it for just a couple of weeks ago and £70 less than the new price. That's obscenely affordable for an SSD we've crowned one of the best gaming SSDs money can buy for PC and PS5 for a long time. These Amazon Resale discounts don't tend to last long, so odds-on you'll have to go quick to get it.

The SN850X is one of the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSDs you can buy, with maximum sequential read and write speeds of 7300MB/s and 6600MB/s. Its random performance, a better indicator of real-world game load times, is also intense - up to 1.2M IOPS for reads and 1.1M IOPS for writes. The only way to get anything quicker is to go for a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, which at the moment are still hilariously expensive at this capacity, although prices are coming down a little bit.
Those speeds are also miles above what Sony requires for the PS5 - the only thing you need to make it fully PS5-proof is a heatsink, but they're a low cost addition to make them fully compatible for use in a PS5 or PS5 Slim. For that purpose, Amazon has this £8 option which we've recommended before. With this, it means the SN850X is fully PS5-proof for under £180, which is seriously good. The fact also remains you're getting 4TB of storage, giving you a lot of additional space compared to the internal SSD of either the PS5 or PS5 Slim, while putting it in a PC as either your main drive or as a secondary fast one will yield more storage space with minimal fuss.
