Save £300 on this 4K 240Hz Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor from Amazon UK
Its lowest price in the UK ever.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a sublime monitor in what looks to be every respect, with a sublume QD-OLED panel with a 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, plus a stylish design and competent port selection. As what appears to be an ultra premium option, it would make sense to expect this panel to cost the earth.
However, with this reduction from Amazon, its price has slipped down to £599, which is easily its best price ever, and marks out a healthy £300 saving on its previous £899 list price; it was even as high as £1200 some two weeks ago. It's pleasant to know that even some of the most feature-rich OLED gaming monitors are coming down in price.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (32-inch, 4K, 240Hz, QD-OLED)Now £599.00 (was £899.00) |
The star of the show with this screen is undoubtedly its QD-OLED panel, providing the classic, inky blacks and immense contrast and dynamic range we've come to expect from OLED screens across a larger 32-inch panel. For good measure, it has a 4K resolution for brilliant detail (as long as you'vev got components capable of running it), plus a 240Hz refresh rate for silky smooth motion. All of this combines to make it a dead cert for both fast-paced shooters where you'll be able to take advantage of that refresh rate, plus in more cinematic titles with a little more responsiveness when warranted.
Peak SDR brightness is only rated at 260 nits, as is typical for this panel type, although in HDR content, it should be able to go much higher for impactful highlights. HDR support comes in the form of HDR10+ and DisplayHDR True Black 400, while this Odyssey OLED G8 also has variable refresh rate support with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to prevent unwanted screen tearing and juddering. Samsung's specs also rate it to have excellent colour accuracy, with virtually perfect coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
The Odyssey OLED G8's design is clean and modern, with the rear of the panel and stand having a pleasant silver finish, plus a circle of RGB lighting around the middle. Its stand can tilt, swivel, height adjust and go into portait if you wish, or is 100x100mm VESA compatible for putting on an arm or stand. Ports come in the form of a pair of HDMI 2.1s, a singular DisplayPort. plus a USB-B upstream and two USB-A downstream ports. There is also a headphone jack, which you may want to use as this monitor doesn't have any speakers.
This particular variant of the Odyssey OLED G8 doesn't come with Samsung's TizenOS smart TV system, which would give this panel another use case, although if you select the 'Smart TV' option on the Amazon product page, then it is available, although you'll pay an extra £300 for the privilege!
If you want to grab a sublime 4K 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor at a healthy discount, this Amazon deal on the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 makes it a steal.
