Shiny Pidgey is available in Pokémon Go!
Released in February 2019, shiny Pidgey has been available in Pokémon Go a very long time, which means shiny Pidgeot can be collected too.
With that in mind, let's take a look at what shiny Pidgey look like and Pidgey's perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go.

Is Pidgey shiny in Pokémon Go?
Yes, Pidgey can be shiny in Pokémon Go.
Shiny Pidgey and shiny Pidgeot were released in February 2019 at the start of the Pokémon Day 2019 event.
While Pidgey hasn't had a Community Day event yet, it has been in enough Go Tours and the like that it is a relatively common shiny. If missed these events, however, you can rest assured that it will be part of an event at some point in the future — this isn't one they're going to hold back on!
What do shiny Pidgey look like?

Wow, this is a bland design... Shiny Pidgey dark browns become light browns, its pinks become orange. This Pokémon isn't winning any awards for its design - especially when you consider that it is actually closer to a sparrow than a pigeon!
Shiny Pidgeotto is a little more striking, even if it is similarly bad. The reds turn gold while conserving the other changes that shiny Pidgey exhibits. Shiny Pidgeot does the same, leading to a Pokémon that looks relatively normal/real-world, rather than something awesome and cool.
Shiny Mega Pidgeot, at least, has a small pop of colour. It takes the azure wing and tail tips and turns them a dark purple, which does look cool, but with the almost monochromatic shiny otherwise, it doesn't do enough to rescue this lacklustre shiny line.

Shiny Pidgey encounter rates

The shiny encounter rates for Pidgey in Pokémon Go depend on the method you're using to obtain it. If it's a Go Pass encounter, then you'll be working with either the base shiny rate or the slightly boosted one for uncommon Pokémon. According to the Pokémon Go wiki, the base rate is estimated to be 1/512 (+0.2%) and the uncommon rate is 1/128 (+0/8%).

How to get shiny Pidgey and perfect IV stats

Whether you can find Pidgey in the wild depends on the season - the in-game event season that is - and what is spawning. If you’re lucky, a one-off event such a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Pidgey, giving you a chance to go shiny hunting. That said, unless those events specifically state that you can get a shiny Pidgey, you’re just going to have to rely on dumb luck.
This means walking and clicking on every Pidgey you see. The average shiny rate for a non-boosted Pokémon is around 1/500, meaning that for every 500 Pidgey you see, one is probably going to be shiny. If you check your Pokédex and seen you have 499 encounters, however, that doesn’t mean your next one is a guaranteed shiny - that’s not how maths works.
Good luck if you're trying for a shiny - that's a lot of Tiny Bird Pokémon to check!
September in Pokémon Go has started with the new Keldeo seasonal quest! The Pokémon Concierge Celebration Event is currently running. There's also levelling changes coming soon. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
Pidgey 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go
When talking about a Pidgey with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go, you're looking for one with 15/15/15 stats to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and the Master League.
If you're looking in the wild and are at least Level 30 (or above), you'll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Pidgey:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 583 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) - 632 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we've kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30.

Best of luck hunting down shiny Pidgey!
