How to feed NPC in Grow a Garden

To be able to feed NPCs, like Eloise at the Gear stall or Sam who sells seeds, you'll first need to cook different meals up that can then be handed over to your chosen NPC for points towards the next friendship level.

The tier or rarity of each meal you feed to an NPC will actually yield different amounts of points, so keep this in mind before you hand over a particular food item. For a full list of recipes, be sure to check out our cooking recipes page which runs through them all.

Here's all recipes and their points towards friendship level:

  • Common - 1 Point
  • Uncommon - 2 Points
  • Rare - 3 Points
  • Legendary - 4 Points
  • Mythical - 5 Points
  • Divine - 6 Points
  • Prismatic - 7 Points
  • Transcendent - 8 Points

The reason why you might want to wait before submitting food is that there's a cooldown of 24 hours after feeding an NPC, so you'll want to be certain about what food you're feeding them. Especially if you want to maximise the amount of Friendship Points you're collecting!

It takes 15 Points to reach Friendship Level 2 with one NPC, for example. Combine this with the 24 hour rule and it will take you a number of days to increase their Friendship Level - with the exact time frame depending on the rarity level fo the good. You can check your current Friendship Level with an NPC by holding a piece of food out in front of them to make the Friendship Bar appear.

Putting in the effort increase these Friendship Level is worth it though as some offer rewards. After reaching Friendship Level 2 with Sam, for example, you'll unlock a new page in the Seed Shop. Here you'll find a new set of seeds which restock on an hourly basis.

You can also increase the Friendship Level of Raphael who runs the Pet Stall to unlock a second pet shop tab.

It's important to note that the only NPCs you currently can't feed are Steven who you sell crops to and Orson who runs the Garden Ascension stall. They lack the 'Feed' option, but it might be added in a future update.
