Hell is Us walkthrough and tips
All of our Hell is Us guides listed.

Hell is Us for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 is an action-adventure game with folk horror vibes from Rogue Factor.
It follows Rémi, an ON Peacekeeper, as he travels across Hadea - a closed country in the middle of a civil war. Why would he take such a risky action? Well Rémi is actually originally from Hadea before he was smuggled out by his mother for reasons he doesn't know. Venturing across Hadea, he hopes to find his parents and learn more about his past. Yet, it quickly becomes clear there's more happening in Hadea than just a war…

Hell is Us tips and tricks
Want some help with Hell is Us? Then here's some of our top tips!
- Remember to level up multiple weapons. Instead of having a list of unique weapons, Hell is Us has four standard weapon types that you can then customise as you find multiple versions of them. Using a weapon in combat will level it up, but only that specific weapon. This means building a strong arsenal in Hell is Us involves regularly switching out your weapons - both the ones you have equipped and the ones you don't.
- Have a varied selection of weaponry. As you upgrade your weapons, you'll be able to tie them to one of four Lymbic Spheres. This decides what kind of Glyphs they can use and can give them an advantage over certain other monsters. It's a good idea to have at least one weapon for each Lymbic Sphere, so you can adapt quickly in combat.
- Don't be afraid to change Glyphs. The further you get into Hell is Us, the more Glyphs you'll unlock and the clearer it will become that some are far better suited for one weapon type over the other. For this reason, it's a good idea to keep track of which Glyphs you're using and change them regularly if a new one is better suited for your current weapon build.
- Make use of the Healing Pulse ability. The Healing Pulse ability is incredibly useful since healing items themselves can be a little sparse at times in Hell is Us. If you're having trouble mastering the timing though, then it's a good idea to figure some weak enemies to practise on. This will make it easier to use when you're facing stronger and faster monsters.
- Don't forget about the drone in combat! The drone can help you start off a battle strongly or help you get out of a difficult situation. It all depends on which modules you have equipped, so make sure you're making the most of it. Just keep an eye on the cooldown timers for the modules. You don't want to get caught short…

- Some items can be added to usable item slots. Sure you'll want to fill these slots with healing and stamina restoring items, but those aren't the only things which can be equipped in the usable item slots. Certain key items you find can also be added in there for quick access. This is incredibly useful for the rare times you do actually find a map!
- Some Good Deeds can be failed. Good Deeds are the little side quests you'll encounter when exploring Hadea, which often involve helping out its citizens. Due to the war, however, you may find that the person you're helping isn't around anymore if you leave a Good Deed unfinished for too long. This often occurs after a major story beat plays out, such as the end of Act One. Due to this, it's a good idea to complete Good Deeds as quickly if you want to fully experience Hell is Us.
- Talk to everyone! Whether it's starting a Good Deed, being part of a Mystery or having a piece of key information, it's worth talking to everyone you encounter. Even if it doesn't feel like they have anything useful to say, there's a good chance they'll point you towards something useful. Make sure you take the time to go through every dialogue option!
- New information is listed in white in the Investigation tab. Keeping to the subject of useful information, it's worth noting that new information is recorded as white in the Investigation tab. It will turn green after the first time you read it, but it's still a good way to see what you've recently learned.

- Take the time to fully explore new locations. Not only could this lead to you finding useful items (especially healing ones), but you may also uncover a Good Deed or Mystery. Solving these will not only help the people of Hadea, but can also lead you to earning some useful items as well.
- You will revisit certain locations. Keeping on the subject of exploration, it's important to note that Hell is Us is a game where you'll be revisiting certain areas. Due to this, you will encounter locations which you might not be able to access yet or activities, like Mysteries, you can't complete yet. It's still worth taking a note of these locations for later though!
- Don't forget about your compass. Hell is Us may lack a map, but that doesn't mean you won't find a one-off paper map every once in a while or be tasked with following verbal directions. When this happens, your compass is a lifesaver by helping you figure out exactly where to go. It's also quite useful for just orienting yourself if you leave the beaten path. I'd recommend keeping the compass equipped in your usable item slots for easy access.
- Use your torch! You'll often find yourself exploring a dark area or risk missing something slightly hidden in the shadows, so it's a good idea to have your torch on more times than not. (It's a lot easier than messing with the brightness controls after all!)

- Lymbic Rods can only be used once, but you'll find more. Scattered about the world of Hadea are chests which can only be opened using specific Lymbic Rods. You'll most likely want to open one of these chests straight away when you encounter it; after all, there will be useful goodies instead. Yet, keep in mind that Lymbic Rods can only be used once so, if you're running low on a specific type, you may want to hold off on opening a chest for a while. Thankfully, you will be able to find more.
- Close Timeloops. Closing Timeloops involves hunting down the Timeloop Guardians, which can take a bit of time, and defeating a boss, which will take a bit of health, but it's worth doing. Not only will you earn a reward, but doing so will prevent monsters reappearing in certain locations, which will make exploration far easier.
- Maybe keep a pen and notepad close by! This may be a Lottie thing, but I love games that require me to take notes and Hell is Us is the perfect game for this. Sure some information is stored for you, but quickly jotting down a direction or a note on what you're looking for can save you a lot of time in the long run. (And you won't have to keep opening the main menu over and over again…)
- You can change the difficulty for combat. Want to simply enjoy the story but have gotten stuck on a boss? Well the good news is that you can change the difficulty for Hell is Us whenever you like! Simply pop into the settings to find the option and you can switch it back whenever you like.
Hope you enjoy Hell is Us!
