Infected mutations can only occur during the Zombie Invasion weather event in Grow a Garden.

During this new weather event, your farms will be visited by zombies, whilst the sky turns green as they spread their Infected mutation.

How to get Infected mutation in Grow a Garden

To get a Infected mutation in Grow a Garden, you need to have experienced the Zombie Invasion weather admin event in game. Afterwards (or during if you're lucky), investigate your plants and see if a fruit has the green colour and smoke of the mutations appearance. This is a Infected mutation!

While it still needs to be confirmed, it appears that the Infected mutation has somewhere around a x90 multiplier for your crops. This is based upon our Infected Strawberry being worth 1,359 Sheckles and the base price of Strawberries is 15.

Of course, other mutations may also affect how much you'll receive when selling these crops, and looking for the most return makes combining these different mutations certainly worth doing.

It's worth noting that this new Infected mutation is different from the Zombified mutation received from the chicken zombie pet.

Grow a Garden Zombie Invasion weather event

Zombie Invasion is a weather event in Grow a Garden where the Jandel monkey is summoned and the sky turns green. Following the casting of a spell, you'll be launched into the air, and zombies will plague the farms, spreading the new Infected mutation.

At the time of writing, the only Zombie Invasion event to take place was an admin-spawned weather event in the pre and post-launch of an update. This means it only occurred because the game's developers expressly made it happen. We don't know if it will always be an admin spawned event, however, so keep an eye on those skies!

Your best chance to experience the Zombie Invasion event is to jump into Grow a Garden an hour before it updates as the admins always like to run special weather events in the build up. For UK players, this would be 2pm (BST) with the update arriving at 3pm (BST).
