Grab this gold 256GB USB-C SanDisk flash drive for a solid price from Amazon

A flashy flash drive.

SanDisk Dual Drive Go USB flash drive in gold on a gradient background

USB-C flash drives seem to be the way to go at the moment for true on-the-go storage as we keep seeing manufacturers of laptops opt for the connector ovre the older USB-A standard - I'm looking at you, Apple. It makes having a zippy flash drive quite useful for fast, pocketable storage thatv can be had quite cheaply this days.

To this end, I've spotted a handy discount on a large 256GB option from SanDisk - the Dual Drive Go - that provides both the benefit of USB-C and USB-A connectors, plus it's gold. Because, why wouldn't you want a gold flash drive? It leads me to one question - "So I ask you - is I bling?". Oh, and it's discounted to £22 - that's quite important.

The big thing that this USB-C flash drive offers over the older USB-A ones we're used to is, put simply, speed. Some of SanDisk's Ultra USB-A drives top out at 150MB/s, which is equivalent to some nippy microSD cards out there, while this USB-C option can deliver speeds of up to 400MB/s, which are close to that of a full-fat SATA SSD for a desktop PC. Brisker speeds mean quicker access to data, both in the sense of reading and writing, and this SanDisk drive is one of the speediest flash drives out there for the price. I got one of these recently at an Nvidia event at Gamescom (although silver, and with the Nvidia logo on), and have been using it for ferrying files around, such as high-res video and storing a music library to put in my car, and it's been perfectly cromulent.

A 256GB capacity helps if you're storin' a lot of stuff, and probably means this SanDisk drive is a lot larger than the pile of all your old USB flash drives put together. We've gotten to the point where flash storage (at least for flash drives and microSD cards) has got quite affordable, so grabbing a capacious drive like this one pays dividends both in time and performance. You spend less time rummaging around in a tin or your office drawer to find a drive in the lottery of unmarked ones, and can access your data quicker, while also being able to store a lot more. If you're someone who deals in larger files, such as media files for creative projects, or you need a bigger drive for installing Windows, for instance, then having a large USB drive like this one is rather useful.

If you want to grab a nippy USB-C drive that also comes in a blingy colour and with a bigger capacity, this SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go for £22 is a steal.
