Death Stranding 2 tips and tricks
Here are our Death Stranding 2 tips and tricks:
- Check conditions for Orders - It's always a good idea to check the conditions of an Order for heading out. Maybe you need to keep the cargo cool or will receive an extra bonus for delivering it with a low cargo damage rating, either way meeting these conditions can net you a bonus. It's important to note that some Main Orders also have very specific conditions and, if you don't meet them, then you'll automatically fail the Order. It's always good to double check!
- Take on multiple Orders - Even if you're planning on focusing on the Main Orders, it's a good idea to take on additional Orders when you can for extra rewards. Since you can take on multiple Orders at a time, it's a good idea to try and combine some of these trips to save time! Just make sure you're planning your route correctly, so you don't miss anything!
- Always scan the environment - No matter where you're walking, it's a good idea to scan the environment frequently with the L1 button. This will not only give you an idea of where it might be perilous to step, but you might even find Lost Cargo. Delivering Lost Cargo results in some nice extra rewards.
- Use the Auto-Arrange Cargo function - If you're having trouble arranging Sam's cargo, then you can always using the Auto-Arrange function will will organise the cargo for you!
- Collect Chiral Crystals - Not only do these special crystals help reduce the weight of Sam's cargo for every 1,000cg you collect, but they also have other uses. Namely improving a certain mode of transportation, so you'll want to collect as many as possible.

- Try to avoid combat - While it might be attempting to punch a brigand in the face, it's always best to avoid combat as much as possible or less you could risk Sam's cargo getting damaged. (Sam will also be damaged too, but think of the packages!) Damage cargo in certain orders will result in you earning a lower amount of Additional Likes.
- Wait til night - If you're worried about sneaking past a certain bandit camp, then you may find it easier to wait until night. It's possible to wait til night falls in certain Private Rooms, but you should be aware that some bandit camps have watchtowers with spotlights.
- Always pack a Blood Bag - Even if you're trying to avoid combat as much as possible, it's always a good idea to pack a Blood Bag or two to ensure you can restore Sam's health. Whether it's from a bullet or a fall, you may need to restore Sam's health.
- Fast travel will be disabled during certain story moments - While we won't spoil exactly when this occurs, it's important to note that you will lose fast travel during certain story beats. Due to this, you may want to round off all of the extra side activities in certain locations before progressing with the main campaign. Sure you'll be able to come back to them later, but the rewards you earn might be incredibly useful.
- Fast travel can penalise your rating - While fast travel certainly saves time, doing so with cargo can result in you receiving a bad rating (referred to as a 'Magellan' in the evaluation). This will result in lower Likes and rewards, which can make increasing the Connection Level for a Facility harder.

Hope you enjoy exploring Death Stranding 2!
